Rev. Roman D. Gray​

Rev. Roman D. Gray was installed as the 4th Pastor of New Redeemer Baptist church on September 25, 2022. He is the eldest of three children born to the late Deaconess Frances and the late Elder Lewis Gray on April 19, 1972.

Rev. Gray is a 1991 graduate of Anacostia High School. He married the former Michelle Peterson of Landover, Maryland on May 8, 1999, and they are the proud parents of three children – Jasmine, Briana, and Isaiah.

A member of Galilee Baptist Church for 30 years, he was called to preach the Gospel in May 2005 and was licensed in December 2006 by Pastor Lloyd T. McGriff.

Rev. Gray has served in several ministries through his years at Galilee Baptist Church including attending a seminary extension program in 2005 and 2006; Instructor for the Men’s Conference, 2009-2014; Director of Men’s Ministry, 2010-2014; Developed Men’s Text Messaging Ministry in 2010, sending a word of encouragement based on scripture references; Director of Vacation Bible School, 2012-2014; Lead Minister for Men’s Retreat 2010, 2012-2014; Instructed the Thursday Night Corporate Bible Study, 2012-2015; Overseer for Thursday Night Baptism 2012-2015; Served as member on a board to improve different methods to simplify teachings for small groups. While attending the Richmond Virginia Seminary in 2010 and 2011, he taught Bible Study on Thursday evenings at Galilee’s Minnesota Avenue, S.E., Washington D.C.

Rev. Gray Graduated from The John Leland School of theological studies in Arlington, Virginia, in June 2021.

In October 2015, under God’s direction, Rev. Gray moved his membership to Ebenezer Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA, under Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Albert P. Jackson. Ordained on December 6, 2017. He served as assistant to Pastor Jackson, served as Worship Leader on 1st and 3rd Sundays, and teacher for

the Men’s Sunday School Class, Chairman of the Men’s Ministry Director of Vacation Bible School, worked with the Christian Education Ministry and was part of a committee designed to help reach out to visitors.

His favorite scripture is 1 Peter 5:6 – ”Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”
